Powerful Women
Giving power back
to women experiencing domestic violence

Your way of helping

A woman in Australia is killed every week by her domestic partner*. No matter how often you read that fact, it’s still just as shocking.

And when we read it, we wonder what we can do. Especially if we’re a woman or identifying as a woman ourselves. The truth is, it’s a complex problem, and it’s mostly not a quick fix. Women experiencing domestic violence need help for months or even years.

HER Board is a new initiative to give these women emotional and practical help for as long as they need.

Sponsor HER

Domestic violence often starts with women losing power through coercion and control.

HER Board is a network of women who sponsor women living with domestic violence until they feel powerful again. It provides an ongoing funding stream until they regain control of their lives, leave domestic violence behind and lead full, flourishing lives.

We know how to walk beside women on this journey because HER Board is brought to you by Womens Health and Family Services – one of Australia’s largest not-for-profit organisations specialising in women’s issues like domestic violence.

How it works

How you'll help her

Become a HER Board Member and your money will go towards emotional and practical services like these. Her power starts by giving her choice – she could choose to use one, two or all of these services because our philosophy is to surround her with whatever help she needs until she regains her power.
